LNG – Liquefied Natural Gas |
|
|
To sustain its economic growth, Bahrain will need more energy going forward. The preferred choice would be the most environmental friendly fossil fuel there is – natural gas – and it could be imported in the form of LNG – liquefied natural gas. Natural gas is the fuel of the future. LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) is gas cooled down to minus 162°C where the gas becomes liquid and thereby reducing its volume 600 times. In its liquid form as LNG, the gas is easy to both store and transport, either by ships or by trucks. Natural gas is the most environmentally friendly fuel with less CO2 emissions than any other fuel as well as generating no SOx emissions and greatly reducing other pollutants like NOx and particulates.
